GO ENJOY BULLHEAD CITY’S ROTARY PARK

Bullhead City has done an amazing job updating and beautifying the area amenities lately!

I often look forward to heading out to Rotary Park with the kids during the week. Especially in the afternoon when the sun is just starting to set and the area is soaking in the golden hour. There’s green grass, basketball courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, skate park, playgrounds, pickleball courts, covered pavilions, disc golf, a dog park, a walking path, and last (certainly not least) the Colorado River with a boat launch.

There’s so much to offer at Rotary Park.

The Colorado River Walking Path

The Colorado River flows along the South Western side of the park’s approximately 300-acre footprint. A paved walking path meanders alongside the Colorado River’s banks from one end of the park to the other. There’s access directly to the water for swimming, fishing, and gatherings. The path features benches and drinking fountains along its course. Many of the native plants are prominently identified with informative signs. We often load the bikes up and take the loop around the park a few times. The entire loop around the park is approximately 2.5 miles of easy walking or biking.

Sunsets By The River

The Colorado River makes for a phenomenal subject for photos. Rotary Park offers plenty of access to the river and a multitude of different looks and moods. The backdrop to the river is lush desert fauna and the Dead Mountains to the West and Spirit Mountain to the North. The sunsets can be amazing especially during the winter. I like to set up and try to catch a few clouds and a reflection in the water. Long exposures of the water can turn out silky smooth with a mirror like reflection. The most amazing sight to me is the purple and orange mountains to the East that you can miss when watching the wonderful sunset to the west.

Panoramic Views and The Wonderful Outdoors

In conclusion, if you like the outdoors then I think you should go check out what Rotary Park has to offer. Please remember a couple of things when heading out though:

• Watch your kids around the river. The Colorado River is a powerful beauty with swift currents and a strong undertow. It’s hard to grasp how much volume of water flows in this channel. It is not a river to be complacent around. Be Safe.

• Please clean up after yourself. The people I see working around the park seem to take pride in their work. There are plenty of trash cans and proper ways to dispose of your trash. Remember, “Pack it in, Pack it out”.

• Many events from soccer, softball, and football games to bbq cook-offs happen in the park. Be sure to check out the Bullhead City Chamber of Commerce for upcoming events.

• The boat ramp isn’t free during the summer. Be sure to check out the Bullhead City Park Directory for more information.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Blog. I’m hoping to showcase many more local attractions in the future. I may even have some Blogs that will help you choose some camera gear of your own so you too can go down and make some wall art of your own.
